There are many reasons why our orthodontic patients come to see us to perfect their smiles. Below are some of the most common problems that we treat:
A patient may have an underbite when the lower jaw over-extends itself, forcing the lower front teeth to protrude in front of the upper front teeth.

Widely spaced teeth may be merely a cosmetic problem plaguing your smile, or missing teeth may be the culprit.

When the upper teeth extend forward in an extreme way or if the lower teeth do not extend far enough, it impacts both the appearance and function of the the teeth and bite.

If teeth erupt and do not have enough room, crowding can occur and make for an unappealing bite and smile. Expansion can correct the problem of teeth crowding and in many cases, a patient can avoid having to remove teeth to make room.

When the upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth, it can cause tooth stratification and force the jaw to grow in a misaligned manner.

An overbite can cause the lower front teeth to push into the roof of the mouth. Opposite of an overbite, an underbite is diagnosed when the upper front teeth extend out over the lower front teeth.

An openbite occurs when the upper and lower teeth do not fit or touch each other at all. This type of bite can impact proper chewing technique and can lead to tongue thrusting, in addition to other unwanted habits.

Proper dental and jaw function are negatively impacted by unmatched dental midlines. It’s caused when the back bite does not match appropriately.
